update the game = apply latest patch from the link Px gave you
after you apply the new patch try to connect hopefully ban will be removed
Yeah,I did.According to the instructions given therein,I tried to add word 'steam',but it is not working..It say's the name specified in the target is invalid..btw how would I know that my game is updated?

Replace cstrike.exe with hl.exe and add after last double quote following
-game cstrike -steam
